Legal Associate

About Us: Breakout Group, an iGaming holding company with a robust IT foundation, is on the lookout for a Legal Associate. You’ll work closely with our CFO to enhance our legal and financial frameworks. This role not only offers a substantial growth trajectory but also the potential to become Head of Legal, reflecting our commitment to IT-driven solutions in an industry often plagued by less efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Document Flow and Management: Build and maintain the company's internal document flow, ensuring actualization and spacing of corporate documents, alongside preparing annual reports' document sections.

• Correspondence and Contract Preparation: Liaise with our counterparts, ensuring effective communication and cooperation, while also preparing, auditing, and managing contracts with counterparties, including license agreements.

• KYC Compliance and Personal Data Processing: Conduct annual KYC compliance checks with our counterparties and prepare documents related to personal data processing, ensuring adherence to relevant data protection and privacy laws.

• Compliance Updates and Regulatory Reporting: Provide quarterly updates of our AML Policy and Terms & Conditions, ensuring we meet regulatory standards, and perform quarterly reporting to the iGaming regulator, maintaining transparency and compliance. This dual role underscores the importance of adherence to legal requirements and regulatory expectations, pivotal for the operational integrity of our iGaming business.

• Legal Support: Offer quarterly legal support for our employees, maintaining a supportive and compliant work environment.

Qualifications:

• Language Skills: Strong proficiency in English (C1), with excellent writing and reading skills.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Google Docs, PDF Element, and Chat GPT.

• Professional Experience: Professional Experience: Previous experience in a legal capacity is preferred, particularly within brokerage or crypto exchange spheres. Experience with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) / CFT (Combating the Financing of Terrorism) and personal data regulations is highly regarded. Big 4 experience is a plus.

• Common Law Knowledge: Required. The candidate must have a strong understanding of Common Law principles, essential for navigating the legal frameworks within which our company operates. Knowledge of international private law may be beneficial for jurisdictional and regulatory matters but is secondary to a robust understanding of Common Law.

• Professional Qualities: An organized, detail-oriented individual with a proactive mindset and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Candidates should be adaptable to national regulations of the company’s domicile and the jurisdictions of our operational reach, especially regarding licensing through local legal partners.
