Material Chemist

Aramco Research Center – Moscow is offering great job opportunities for R&D scientists specialized in polymer and material chemistry focused on rheology and novel polymer-based formulations. The position does not separate the roles of synthesis scientist and analytical characterization scientist and requires to be very flexible and innovative to think and work outside the box. It will focus on development of novel formulations of emulsions and gels as well as their analysis, characterization and engineering of prototypes of products to be further deployed to industrial applications. This will also require from the candidate to be able to grasp end to end industrial data processing and analytics implementation for successful technology development to tackle business problems.

Key functions and responsibilities:

• Laboratory development of novel formulations of gels, foams and emulsions for industrial needs.
• Characterization of stability of surfactants and polymeric solutions an. emulsions.
• Evaluations of emulsion/gels-forming-/breaking conditions.
• Reporting results of the laboratory work.
• Presenting R&D works at local and international scientific events (conferences, symposiums, etc.).
• Drafting scientific manuscripts and patents.
• Upscaling and prototyping of industrial products.
• Strict following of laboratory health & safety and cybersecurity requirements.

Successful candidate should have the following skills:

• Higher education (master degree); preferable – PhD in chemistry, material science, oil and gas chemistry.
• More than 3 years’ work experience.
• Development and characterization of high molecular weight compounds, polymers, foams, colloidal solutions and gels.
• Skilled wet-chemistry-lab experience with grasped knowledge of safety requirements at the lab.
• Hands-on experience of work with rheometers, viscosimeters, nanosizer/zetasizer, gel-permeation chromatography, characterization of nanoparticles and colloidal solutions, investigation of stability of colloidal solutions.
• Design and development of novel formulations of gels, foams and emulsions with stability to harsh conditions.
• Synthesis of polymers and nanoparticles.
• Preferable skills in engineering of industrial formulation of products from high molecular weight compounds.
• Foreign Languages - English (Upper-Intermediate/Fluent level with good writing and oral skills).
• Skilled user of online Scientific Research Libraries and R&D Databases (Google Scholar, Google Patents, WoS, Истина, etc.).
• Practical experience in writing Research articles, Project Proposals and Reports.
